Gail Stephens

Gail Joseph

Gail joined the team in August 2005 and brings considerable experience of treating Women's health and Pilates.
She graduated from Keele University in 1999, with a BSc(Hons) in Physiotherapy.

Gail worked in the NHS in Addenbrooke's Hospital, gaining experience in all aspects of physiotherapy before choosing to specialise in musculoskeletal physiotherapy and then women's health. She now has many years experience within this speciality and her special interests are in pelvic pain during the childbearing years, and continence problems in both men and women. She has good working relationships with the Rosie Maternity Hospital, and works closely with Consultant Urogynaecologist and Urologist colleagues.

Gail has had several articles published in Physiotherapy Journals and is currently actively involved in research into the treatment of incontinence, and in developing and sharing specialist skills with physiotherapists.

In 2004 Gail completed a post-graduate qualification in the field of continence and uses the knowledge gained from this course to treat patients to a high standard, using evidence based practice.

As well as offering specialist physiotherapy, Gail is able to treat general musculoskeletal problems using a wide variety of treatment options.
She is a fully qualified Pilates Instructor through the Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute (APPI) and lectures nationally to Physiotherapists about the use of Pilates in rehabilitation. At Penn Farm she applies her Pilates skills and techniques in the treatment of many musculoskeletal and continence problems.
